Building Your Business + Making A Plan For Success
This is a workshop designed for those both at the very beginning of their business, and those wanting to build on a business they have already established. Through guided discussion, exercises and tested methodology we will build individual business plans that can be adapted, developed and built upon throughout your business. We will also work together to understand our fears and motivations, so that the business structure you leave with will be one that is both profitable and entirely personal to you.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Sunday 30th July
10.30am - 4pm
Emily has been writing, creating and editing content around business, innovation and entrepreneurship since her somewhat-sudden introduction to the world of running her own business back in hazy days of 2014. In this time she has established, developed and marketed two businesses; award-nominated Lewes home and lifestyle store, The Good Times Homestore, and Eastbourne-based woodworking and design studio, Perrymans Fine Woodworking; both of which have seen year-on-year growth since they were established.
Emily has created and edited content for the Innovation Portal, including case studies, exercises and teaching aids. She has also been involved in the creation of ‘flipped classroom’ resources for various titles, including ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ (Bessant, Tidd). Most recently, she has designed, marketed and facilitated social media training workshops alongside fellow entrepreneur, Naomi Gale (Styled by Naomi).
Emily’s interests lie in helping emerging businesses counter issues of confidence and the concept of failure. Through down-to-earth discussion, straightforward exercises and easily accessible tools she believes that a fulfilling and rewarding business and lifestyle is within everyone’s grasp.
Naomi has been running her own styling business since 2014, when images of her own wedding (styled entirely by herself), were used to market the venue in which it was held. In the same year she founded award-nominated wedding + lifestyle blog Wedding Tattle. Through careful marketing and strategizing Naomi built her styling business in a heavily saturated industry, forming connections with influencers in the field that caused her work to be featured in both print and online press.
Since then, Naomi has pivoted her business to fit around her own commitments as a new mum. With significant growth that can be attributed to Naomi's social media expertise, Styled by Naomi has become a trusted supplier of handmade goods for nursery styling. Her products are sold via NOTHS, and through both online and bricks-and-mortar stockists, whilst the significant majority of her income is driven to her own site from her social media presence.
Naomi recently led social media training workshops alongside Emily Bessant-James (The Good Times Homestore); teaching attendees how to make the most of social media through authentic and considered work. The workshop was written and led in a way that enabled access for those just starting out on their social media/business journey. Naomi is passionate about helping others find and build on success.
