This time of year is usually when I start to take back August's statements about being excited for colder weather and remember that actually, I quite like being warm. Since there's not a lot I can do about the weather, I tend to turn to warm, comforting foods that'll warm my belly if nothing else!
When the days are short and dark, the slow cooker is truly your best friend. There's nothing quite like coming home to a fresh, home cooked meal that's ready and waiting to be eaten. The recipe that's caught my eye most lately is this Lamb Shank Rogan Josh from Supergolden Bakes.
Lamb works perfectly for a dish like this. Cooked long and slow the meat falls away from the bone and becomes super tender, whilst taking on the warming spices. OK, now I'm making myself hungry!
